The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program includes pathways for workers and entrepreneurs. The right starting point depends on your status, work, occupation, job offer, community connection and business background.
Understanding AAIP
Provincial nomination is a two-government process
Alberta uses the AAIP to nominate people whose skills or business plans support the province’s economic priorities. After nomination, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada manages the permanent residence application and makes the final decision.
AAIP intake rules, selection priorities, allocations and processing information can change. Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee an invitation, nomination or permanent residence approval.

Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta may invite qualifying candidates from the federal Express Entry pool based on provincial priorities and dedicated pathways.
Rural Renewal Stream
For qualifying candidates with a job offer and endorsement from an Alberta community that has been formally designated.
Tourism and Hospitality Stream
For qualifying candidates living and working in Alberta with an eligible full-time offer from an Alberta tourism or hospitality employer.

AAIP FAQs
What is the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program?
The AAIP is an economic immigration program operated by Alberta and Canada. Alberta can nominate eligible people for permanent residence, while IRCC makes the final permanent residence decision.
Can anyone submit an AAIP worker application?
No. Worker streams use eligibility requirements and selection processes that can include a Worker Expression of Interest, an invitation, an Alberta job offer or community endorsement, depending on the stream.
Does an AAIP nomination guarantee permanent residence?
No. A provincial nomination permits the nominee to apply to IRCC, which assesses the permanent residence application and makes the final decision.
Can MZIC find me an Alberta job?
No. MZIC provides immigration services and does not provide recruitment, job placement or job matching. A genuine qualifying job offer must be obtained independently where required.
